Keep Christ at the center, the Word of Truth in your heart, and the traditional teachings of the Catholic Church as the guardian of your soul.

HELP! We're sorry for the interruption, but please don't scroll past this just yet. Most of our website visitors don't support our work because they cannot or they think others will do enough. If Good News Ministries has given you $25 worth of faith-growth during the pandemic, please take a minute to donate $25. Thank you. You'll be helping our staff and volunteers change the world by taking the light of Christ into the darkness. If you are one of Christ's Champions who have recently donated to keep our mission going, we sincerely thank you.

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously… God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work" (2 Cor 9:6-9).

The future of Good News Ministries is at stake. Monthly donations are down because of the income losses of many supporters. At this rate, we'll only be able to bring you our services for three more months. So we have to trust God to take good care of us. We are all being tested for the sake of our faith growth.

In a recent survey directed toward parents, grandparents and church leaders, by the Strong Catholic Families National Initiative, the majority — 54% — of respondents said that what they want most to hear from Church leaders is: How can the church help you/your family live out your faith in the world?

Good News Ministries publishes “Reflections for Couples” to promote the sanctity of marriage in alignment with the the teachings of the Catholic Faith. These are short, daily messages for couples – married as well as those preparing for marriage.

Take a look now at the Reflections for Couples.

They are free to individuals, ready for printing and using in couple dialogs or private reflection. Subscribe to receive them by email (the sign-up form is at the top of the column on the left side of the Reflections for Couples posts).

Here are 10 ways a parish can use Reflections for Couples and thus satisfy the hopes of more than half of your parishioners:

  1. Recommend that your parishioners subscribe by email; a short bulletin announcement is provided below, and you may use the attached logo.
  2. Recommend them to the engaged couples of your parish, most of whom will be attracted to these reflections because they like using their smart phones to read and learn.
  3. Print them for Neophytes of the RCIA process.
  4. Print them to distribute to the parents of children in your Religious Education program.
  5. Print them for baptism preparation classes.
  6. Print them for Pre-Cana classes.
  7. Email them to the leaders of MOMS groups or whatever ministries you have for parents, inviting them to forward them or print them for distribution.
  8. Add them to your weekly bulletin.
  9. Give them to Marriage Encounter circles and other small faith sharing groups of couples.
  10. Distribute them at marriage retreats, workshops on the family, and any other activity that results from the Synod on the Family.

I would like permission to use a couple of the Reflections for Couples for an engaged couples weekend as a starting point with prayer and then couples discussion. We do this once a year and have between 4 and 10 couples. Our parish is small about 675 parishioners. Please let me know how I can print the reflections and if there would be a charge.
